Thru-hiking is hard work. Are partners a help or a hindrance? We have interviews with three different couples talking about life on the trail when you are in a partner-ship, romantic or otherwise. What’s the secret to a successful partnership? (Dirtnap tells us it is keeping your farts to yourself.) Tune in for the rest!

May 30, 2015 at 8:40 pmLoving the podcasts, Gizmo! Nice to hear the voices some of the friends I made on the trail last year and hearing the perspectives of new hikers, people on the AT, and more. Eager for your coming episodes. Keep up the good work!

June 5, 2015 at 9:55 amI found your podcasts just recently and really enjoy listening to them. I enjoy hiking but likely will never be able to step away from real life long enough to do a thru hike so I can now live vicariously thru your contributors and the podcasts. Good luck to you all!

June 6, 2015 at 3:51 pm~As a college student who dreams of achieving my thru hike dreams post studies, listening to Sounds of Trail has truly inspired me. I am so much more encouraged now to follow through with my dreams of hiking not only the PCT, but maybe even attempting the triple crown. (WHAAAA) As a woman, I’m loving the female lead narration, especially in an environment where men outnumber women (current future subject maybe?). Thanks Gizmo, Kimchi, and Saina! Ya’ll are some rad ladies!~

June 17, 2015 at 9:23 pmSame story, except I’m a dude and never hiked before. I’m a senior in college and I want to add backpacking/thru-hiking to my bucket list for life. I’m planning on starting day hiking to warm up to longer outings and my hope is to eventually thru-hike the AT after I graduate. I listen to this podcast whenever I’m in the car instead of the radio and it has been a real inspiration thus far. One thing I like about this podcast is that it’s recording real, current events and people. It sounds really authentic and original as well. Please keep up the good work!

July 11, 2015 at 1:39 amReally liked this. My partner and I have done some long backpacking trips together and I liked hearing how it was for other folks.

October 3, 2015 at 8:46 pmI ran into Sounds of the Trail about a month ago. I love it! I’m thinking that you are going to help me get through winter in the northwest when I won’t be hiking. I’m trying to “ration” the episodes so I don’t run out before spring. lol

February 4, 2016 at 12:20 pmI obviously found your podcast a little late, but I LOVE it!! Busting through them, so kinda happy I can just keep listening instead of waiting week to week! 🙂
Thank you for this podcast!

December 22, 2016 at 10:15 pmThis is my new obsession. I did the Camino de Santiago this September/October with my wife. I wish we had known about you before as we could have offered to do something for you on the trail out there (even though it is a VERY different kind of hike). I guide backpacking trips in Yosemite for a living and in the spring/summer I love seeing the PCT hikers pass through Tuolumne. Definitely one of my favorite parts of the year.
How do we get that sticker you talked about on one of the episodes? Also, how do you choose correspondents? I would love to help in any way I can.
