The community of thru-hikers on-trail is one of the things that makes a thru-hike a little different from a weekend backpack. Your fellow hikers will encourage you when you’re down, squeeze you into their tent on a cold night, and be totally cool when they walk up on you taking a poop. What makes your fellow hikers not just trail friends, but trail family? We hear from special guests Tick, Pocahontas, and Chief, as well as Kimchi and Par 3, as we explore the meaning of trail families.

August 3, 2015 at 10:52 amThis is Baby Blue & Big Blue (Par 3’s grandparents). We love this Podcast. What a treasure! And hearing some important lessons for life: living in the moment, and the value of intimate relationships to help us understand ourselves. Loved being a small part of your lives last year in Chester. Thank you!

August 5, 2015 at 12:47 pmChief’s comments about “if you’re in an office… have a good day…I hope you’re a productive member of society” made me laugh…at my desk. Thanks for thinking of those of us in a rut at the desk jobs. Keep the great podcasts coming! I look forward to this each week.

August 10, 2015 at 11:24 amOh man, when I listened to that interview for the first time, all I could do was laugh too. Damn! Why am I producing podcasts, and not hiking myself!! The original goal of this podcast was to keep MYSELF sane through a thru-hiking season spent at a desk job, so I’m glad it’s helping you too. 🙂
