In our second episode we get to hear from Saina, who has passed mile 100 on the Pacific Crest Trail! Kimchi has officially started the Appalachian Trail, starting at Springer Mountain in Georgia – we’re looking forward to hearing from her next week. Guest appearances by a bunch of new thru-hikers who I had the opportunity to chat with at the Annual Day Zero Pacific Crest Trail Kickoff in Lake Morena, CA.
Other news: we are officially on iTunes, so don’t forget to stop by and give us a review. Or just say Hi here on the website! We’d love to hear from you. You can also catch up with Kimchi on her blog HERE, and Saina on her blog HERE.
Thanks for tuning in!

May 13, 2015 at 8:55 pmloving this! Great job on the hiker interviews Gizmo, so many of those folks had the same fears and hopes I did last year at kick off. You really nailed the emotion of it all… made me want to go jump on the trail right now!

May 14, 2015 at 7:50 pmThanks Shiny! It was fun to talk to them all, so many expectations in one place! I sort of started this podcast so I wouldn’t feel so bad about not hiking this summer, but I’m not sure is working…

May 30, 2015 at 8:46 pmGreat job of catching the starting hiker feeling, Gizmo. I hope you can get some of the same hikers as they progress, and hopefully complete a thru-hike, and see how close their perceptions were to reality. I know I was spot on for a few things and way off on other things. A great learning experience! Keep up the good work!

December 29, 2016 at 10:56 pmA little late to the party, but i just started listening and loving it! I thru-hiked the Long Trail this past summer (2016) and can relate to several of these people from the beginning, even though I wasn’t prepping to walk nearly as far.
